Ceakay Ballyhoo created quite a stir last in 2016 with her art installation "A Watercolor Wander", which was on display at Linden Endowment of the Arts (LEA) 12. Although that exhibit has recently closed, her new exhibit, "The Forest Beyond" has just opened.
The visitor is guided through a series of tableaus and literally walks into watercolor paintings that the artist has created. The freshness of the medium of watercolor, which should take into account the brightness and texture of the underlying paper on which it is based, can be seen to great effect in Ceakay's work.
This is a fairytale installation, completely charming, and one that I highly recommend you visit.
Write a story, a poem, a song about any of the things in the Forest Beyond and send them to Ceakay Ballyhoo, either by notecard or through mail (ceakayballyhoo@gmail.com). The best story will be worth 500 Lindens. Final date for submitting your work is February 12, 2017.
