Great Second Life Destinations: The Stone-Chiseled Landscape at The DECO Main Store

Deco is a retail sim whose main architectural feature is a well designed Art Deco inspired main store with a tower that is visible from all parts of the beautifully landscaped islands which surround it. Deco sells a variety of fashion items and accessories for outdoorsy male and female avatars here, including a selection of very realistic  boots and backpacks.  It's gorgeous greenhouse, shown on the last two images in this post, sells interesting plants and other items for landscaping.

I found the real joy of visiting this location in photographing the unique rock-hewn and waterfall-filed landscape. The landscaping and use of trees, particularly the hardened evergreens which appeared to survive a very cold winter, were particularly beautiful in this setting.

The Deco main store reminded me very much of  structures on The Golden Mile in the western suburbs of  London in the U.K.  There are several architecturally acclaimed Art Deco commercial buildings and factories here which were built in the 1920's and 30's which have a similar clean and modern industrial design. The famous Gillette Building instantly came to mind when I first visited.

All photography was taken with Windlight Sky Setting (SS) Atmospheric 08:00 Cloudy2 which comes standard in the Firestorm and some other viewers.
