Kkrystali Rabeni's art installation at LEA 9, Deadly Sins, lets the visitor visit a series of seven multimedia vignettes which show the cardinal vices that may get believing sinners thrown into the the flames of hell unless they clean their acts up. To demonstrate the point, the visitor will walk over a broken marble floor exposing hell's fiery flames as a warning, which I thought was a very nice touch. There is much to enjoy here, and simply thinking about all these potential avarices should get visitors an extra year or two in purgatory for impure thoughts.
When you arrive at the landing area which is located in a skybox structure, walk down the steps (shown above) and jump over the edge. You will then land in an impressive hall shown below). Keep on walking over the flames of hell -- don't worry, you won't fall in -- towards the two doors at the end. The one at the left is a teleport to a ground pavillion where 7 pathways through arches are located each leading to one of the 7 sins.
Some of the 7 deadly sins such as lust and gluttony are easy to figure out, I show photographs from each here. Others will require some thinking, I think pride, for example, is shown by the person who has a television set for a head watching himself on television. This is a very enjoyable and well done installation, and highly recommended for a visit.
The Seven Deadly Sins have changed somewhat since they were first popularized by the Catholic Church in the 14th century. The are widely recognized as wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony in the modern age. You can find out more over at Wiki:
