Great Second Life Retail Destinations: The Amazing UnZipped Steampunk and Gothic Main Store

Destany Laval & Barnabas Moonshadow's Unzipped Main Store, located on Tesla Isle, is a wonder to behold. UnZipped is a large retailer of some very well made fashion and accessory items for those interested in the Steampunk, Victorian, Post-Apocalyptic and Science Fiction time periods -- for role play and just general use. In addition they sell other things including weapons and airships - large and well detailed Tesla Isle Airship which I show above, and is on sale for $1,000 Linden is one great buy.

The physical structure of the art-deco UnZipped main building, with its working clock-tower reminds me of a London landmark I used to drive by quite regularly-  the magnificent Gillette Building. The Gillette Building, originally a factory and one of the best examples of industrial - deco design, is now being converted into pricey West London apartments.  Over 15 examples of gorgeous industrial architecture  are located together in what is called the  Golden Mile in Brentford, otherwise known as the A4 or Great Western Road. The next time you are in London and are on the way to Heathrow, take a detour and have your driver drive you down this road if you like great industrial design.

The star attraction of UnZipped is undoubtedly Tessie, the great fire breathing mechanical serpent who resides in the lagoon outside the main store. You cannot miss Tessie -- her glowing yellow eyes and sharp fangs are, frankly, a bit unnerving to see at first. She looks at you the same way my cat looks at a bag of seafood treats. She is mechanical though -- go up close in her head and see the working gears and pumps that operate her.  I will be featuring more of Tessie who was designed by Destiny and Barnabas in a follow-up post:make sure to see what can accomplished using traditional sculpt and prim build technologies in Second Life.

The Unzipped Main Store on Tesla Isle is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Second Life, no matter what your interests. To visit:
