Remember, Remember The Fifth of November - The Gunpowder, Treason and Plot!
Guy Fawkes Night is celebrated on November 5 in Great Britain with bonfires and fireworks displays. The holiday commemorates the exposure of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605 when Guy Fawkes was arrested, tortured, and drawn and quartered while guarding explosives placed beneath the House of Lords.

The holiday used to have a strong anti-Catholic overtone, since the gunpowder plot was supposedly thought up by The Jesuits at a time of religious turmoil. but these days, is really just celebrated for a good time.

The Guy Fawkes exhibit at London Ambiguity is well done and fun to see. You can get a free Guy Fawkes avatar - which I am wearing in these photographs, and learn about the plot on three levels of a period Tudor house. If you wish, can be tortured on the rack and hung at the end.. I thought that Guy Fawkes himself -- see Exhibit 2 above -- looked very much like Eddi Haskell.

There is an interesting Dr. Who tableau outside the basement storage area which you reach visa-vi a round glowing teleport outside the main exhibit.
|You Can "Hang Out" For a Good Time|
This is a fun and educational exhibit to visit. Make sure your sound is turned up; the sound effects contribute much to the atmosphere. The exhibit will be open through November 12.
