Eddi and Ryce's Second Life is Five Years Old Today.

Eddi Haskell's Second Life (now Eddi and Ryce's Second Life)  is five years old today.

For those of you who do not yet know, I am a Second Life resident avatar.  I am also Ryce Skytower in Second Life. Ryce is main inworld persona, while Eddi is the blogging and business side of me.

This blog has published over 6,200 posts, and has had over 1.4 million unique page views since its inception back in November, 2008.   We now average over 50,000 unique page views per month and have consistently been ranked by Technorati as one of the 10 most influential Second Life blogs.

I first started blogging to keep a record of my Second Life experience. Blogging then expanded as a place to publish and store my Second Life photography, something I was not that interested in 5 years ago.  I thought others might be interested in reading about my experiences, and this seems to have been the case.

Although I primarily blog about Second Life and virtual worlds, I do like to write about real life things I find of interest, including LGBT issues.

I am most proud of one thing -- helping others get started in the world of blogging, including several of the Rhino Writers, the LGBT blogging group in Second Life.

I want to especially like Jordyn "JC" Carnell for inspiring  me to get into blogging back in 2008.  I remember telling JC that I could not possibly do something this complicated, and JC assured me that it would be easy once I got the swing of it, and he was right.

I want to thank you, my readers, for your support. What keeps me going is knowing that others enjoy my blog and look forward to reading it.

Please have a wonderful winter holiday season, and thank you for your support!

Eddi Haskell (and Ryce Skytower).
