This Saturday, in London, star soprano Joyce DiDonato, who is from a small prairie village in Kansas, sang "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" to an audience of tens of millions around the world at the biggest classical concert of the year - The Last Night of the Proms.
The song was dedicated to the gay community and those “silenced” over gay rights in Russia. As an added note, the conductor of this famous concert was a female for the first time -- Marin Alsop- who also happens to be a lesbian. You must hear this performance.
