Great Photo of Benja and Ryce Courtesy of Marccm and Dodo.

It was for Benja and Ryce's wedding from their friends Marc and Dodo, and a wonderful photograph.

Happy Easter Everyone! The Classic Song for Today, "In Your Easter Bonnet" from Easter Parade with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire

Happy Easter Everyone!

The magnificent movie for today, Irving Berlin's Easter Parade starred two of the biggest draws of 1948, Fred Astaire and Judy Garland. One of the great musicals of all time. At one point, New York's Easter Parade attracted over one million people - showing off their finest and strolling down Fifth Avenue. However, these days, the parade is more like a Halloween event --- but still fun.

BTW- Judy ws the one who was supposed to wear the Easter Bonnet -- putting the ribbon on Fred Astaire's hat was either his or her idea -- I read this somewhere and the reversal of roles appealed to the director of the movie.

The street scene is supposed to be Fifth Avenue and 50th Street down from St. Patrick's Cathedral in turn of 1912 New York. Rockefeller Center was not yet built yet -- the area was an upper-class residential area back then, and the home of Columbia University before they moved uptown to their current campus.

I love the main song "In Your Easter Bonnet". Puts me in a good mood whenever I hear it.  Make sure to see this clip if you are not familiar with the movie.

Congratulations Masquerade Snowbear and InsyX Piranha Who Are Very Much In Love and Were Married Saturday Afternoon

Congratulations to InsyX and Masquerade who tied the knot yesterday!  I was the minister during the well attended ceremony. In addition  I gain a new SL Dad since DJ InsyX has been my (and Ryce Skytower's) SL dad for several years, and a great one at that!  I am sure there will be more photos published -- I was only able to take one good one, but everyone had a great time at the party after.   DJ Aeschylus Shepherd did a great job keeping the crowd dancing, and most everyone stayed late. Benja joined me at the event, that is us below dancing afterwards.

Masterwork Machinima Two Short Entries from Celestial Elf

Still from Celestial Elf's Ingress Invocation

Masterwork Machinima artist Celestial Elf has produced two interesting short videos of about one minute each. They are related to a new game release, Ingress Invocation, which looks interesting but complicated -- I am interested in his quality machinima output here.

He writes the following about Ingress Invocation:

Ingress is an augmented reality massively multiplayer online game created by NianticLabs@Google, released for Android devices.

To find out more:

You can request an invite to Ingress Invocation here:

Celestial Elf's blog:

Celestia's Elf's machinima output, particularly of his large scale works, has been very limited in the past several months. I would love to see him pick up the pace since I enjoy his work so much.

Still from Celestial Elf's the Enlightened

He writes the following about The Enlightened:

The Enlightened are already here.
If you're not with us, let us show you the path to Enlightenment.

A mysterious energy has been unearthed by a team of scientists in Europe. The origin and purpose of this force is unknown, but some researchers believe it is influencing the way we think. We must control it or it will control us.

Product Review: The Aquila Satyr Fountain

Benja makes really nice Roman and Greek furnishings which he sells at his online store. I really like his satyr fountain. It has a lion head as fountain, a golden statue of Satyr to decor and an ancient mosaic of god Neptune in the base. That is Ryce and Benja standing in front of it. I think it is very well done.

The fountain is only 8 prims and costs 199 Linden. You can read more about it over at Benja's blog and purchase it on SL Marketplace here:

You Tube: Benja and Ryce's Wedding Video Featuring Benja's Photography

Photography by Benja AQuila
I made another wedding video of Benja and Ryce's wedding on March 23 featuring Benja's good photography. The photographs are more clear than the first wedding video I posted here, and show the reception area at the Rose Theater well. The music I selected was Freddy Mercury and the great opera diva Montserrat Caballé singing the song Barcelona, which is Benja's (and Montserrat's) beautiful home city before the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympic games.

Gorgeous Second Life Destinations: The Cathedral at Meisterbastier-Kreis

Meisterbastier-Kreis bills itself as a group of regions based on rural Bavaria. I found the town very reminiscent of part of Southern Germany, and a very attractive destination to visit. This realistic cathedral, which makes very good use of two dimensional textures to achieve trompe l'oeil (literal translation - fool the eye) effects is well worth a visit. Make sure to see the surrounding sims which are very well done.

To visit:

Classic Cinema: The Birds, One of Hitchcock's Most Frightening Movies, Released 50 Years Ago Today

The Birds, one of Alfred Hitchcock's most terrifying movies, premiered 50 years ago today on March 28 1963.. It depicts Bodega Bay, north of San Francisco California, which is, suddenly and for unexplained reasons, the subject of a series of widespread and violent bird attacks over the course of a few days. The birds operate in tandem, across species, as they attack humans. The birds may have been introduced to a virus through a small pet bird brought by the glamorous Tippy Hedren (above) to the area. At the end of the film, the end of the world seems nearby as reports of violent bird attacks surface from other places.

In 2007, George Clooney was mentioned as starring in a remake of the movie, but nothing has happened with this project to date.

This movie always makes me hungry for Kentucky Fried Chicken.  I want to see some now.
