Eddi Gives Advice in Yahoo Answers to someone who has a problem with a neighbor in a condo.
This question comes from Brickety Brick who has problems with a neighbor in a condo.
What is up with the people who police the laundry rooms at my condo?
Every time I do laundry, there are two different old women who will come around and harrass me. One of them insists that I need to instantly remove my clothing from the washer or dryer the second it stops (when there are many available machines), and the other one keeps watching as I pull out my clothes and then insisting that I am either washing things that aren't acceptable (like my small, 100% cotton bathroom rug) or washing too many things at once. This time, the latter of the two actually threatened to report me to the condo board for putting too large of a load into the dryer. I nearly lost it. I have been doing laundry all of my life and not once have I ever broken a washer or dryer, or even had one that needed to be repaired. And these are gigantic, triple-loader machines. Is there anything I can say or do to get these freaks off my back?
Here is my answer:
This is a perfect time for you to take out your frustrations on someone who deserves it. I will not tell you how, or what you may consider to be socially acceptable, but try this loudly on one of them.
YOU ARE VIOLATING THE RULES!
I AM FOLLOWING THE RULES!
YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS STANDING HERE AND SAYING THIS TO ME.
GET AWAY FROM ME NOW!
DID YOU READ THE RULE ABOUT MAINTAINING DECORUM AND NOT HARASSING THE OTHER HOMEOWNERS!
I WILL BE REPORTING YOU!
Remember, the goal is to feel better after you say this to her!
