Blue Mars Scores Again With Opening of IDIA Lab

Blue Mars is now hosting the IDIA Lab, an evolving showcase of interactive simulation projects from the Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts at Ball State University.  The large area (think about 36 Second Life sims put together with no need for sim crossings) opened on Monday November 15.

The open projects include a highly realistic rendition of the 1915 San Francisco World’s Fair built to real life size, a Japanese temple, a virtual art museum, and 3-D interactive sphere, something that my avatar Roger (in the blue shirt and white tie) could not find on his first trip.

I plan to go back -- and wanted to get these first pictures up here. Blue Mars emphasis on highly professional third party content -- together with stunning visualization - has yielded a professional-looking platform that Linden Labs will find hard to compete against as it aims for more business and educational content in Second Life.
