How to Save Money on Hotel Rooms

I am traveling to San Francisco this week and needed an inexpensive hotel room on Thursday and Friday night.

I checked quite a few travel sites -- and booking.com had the best rates by far.  I was able to get a hotel suite at a three star hotel for $90 a night, which I can cancel one day before the booking with no penalty.  The rates here were a good 20% lower than other sites.

Upon further examination, booking.com is actually a Priceline company. They do not directly show the rates.  I have a feeling that this may be the same rate that Priceline charges when you bid on a night. But unlike Priceline, the reservations can be cancelled,  and you do know what hotel you are getting.  Go ahead and try this site before you use any others for discount rooms in the United States.
