Opinion From Eddi: Iran Should Not Have a Seat on the United Nations Human Rights Council

I wonder how many of these MP's walked out on the guy?

I rarely run political type editorials like this.  And if you are reading this blog and think that it should be all about Second Life, I generally try to keep content relevant. But this blog does have a large number of gay and lesbian readers, and I feel compelled to speak out at times.

Why don't we add MURDER OF GAYS to this official seal?

I just read something that made me sick this morning. Iran is up for election and may win a seat on the prestigious 47 member United Nations Human Rights Council.

And what did YOU do when YOU were 17 years old?

Iran murders children on the pretense of being gay.  The two young men above were 17 and 18 years old when they were murdered on hearsay for being gay. Fake charges that they "raped" a 13 year old boy were
leveled after their conviction.  They are continuing to do this.

Ahjedmanie with his buddy Hugo Chavez of Venezuela

Peter Tatchell, the U.K based activist said that Tatchell told reporters that according to Iranian human rights activists, more than 4,000 lesbians and gay men have been executed in Iran since the ayatollahs seized power in 1979. He said an estimated 100,000 Iranians have been executed in Iran since that time.

I will not even bother to list Iran's other human rights violation outrages including official holocaust denial, tampering of election results, repression of female rights, and using young childen to clear grenade fields after gving them keys to heaven. Last week, he openly gay foreign minister of Germany, Guido Westerwelle says having Iran in the 47-nation body would be an "affront" to human rights, and is trying to convince other nations not to vote for a seat for this barbaric and cruel nation.  It just seems to me too many take Iran's behavior for granted -- letting them kill whomever they want and do as they please. Enough is enough.
