What I cannot figure out is the price. The travel industry must be in a bad recession to say the least! With tax, fuel surcharges, and everything it came to only $459.00 for a single cabin. This is incredibly cheap, they give huge discounts to Floridians to fill the ship up if it does not sell out. It's about half the cheapest price I have seen before.
I took out cancellation insurance for an extra $25.00.. Together with the tips that you are expected to leave for staff on the cruise ship, and parking at the Miami cruise terminal (I can drive there), my entire vacation should come out to be around $630.00, or $90.00 a day. This is cheaper than staying at a motel -- and the cruise includes a room, your meals, entertainment, everything but drinks, bottled water, and other extras.
October is the height of the hurricane season in the Caribbean, but ships avoid these now with weather forecasts. It is hot and humid as hell down in Mexico and Jamaica though, so hopefully the ship will be air conditioned.
If you are interested, I found this deal on Expedia. You might want to check it out.
