Note -- this is not a mature blog, so you cant show any bits or pieces, or even -- uh -- well cleavage in the behind area.   Wear shorts or be tasteful please!!!   I get all these angry emails from the search engines if I run sexual content here without a blog mature rating!

(From Bock in Second Life)

This is from Bock McMillan (Bock in Second Life):

Today I received some long awaited news from the Gay Archipelago group.

Several months ago Rico Bluestar stepped down as Lead of the GA, since then there has been a selection process in the owners group to find a new Lead to replace him. The selection has now come to a successful conclusion with today's announcement.

The new lead-team of the Gay Archipelago will consist of Chris Magic as Lead, Weylin Vale as Vice Lead and with Parvin (Xcept Atlas) continuing as Public Relations Lead.

Continued over at Bock in Second Life. Please head over there for more information. And congratulations to the new leads!

#feelingnuts

I was challenged by fellow blogger Bock McMillan to take part in the #feelingnuts campaign to combat testicular cancer. So this is my response to his challenge.

Ryce Skytower is taking the challenge as Santa's Little Helper.  Ryce is taking time off packing presents for all good boys and girls at the North Pole and happily is feeling his nuts for the campaign. Ryce would like everyone to know that he is NOT scratching an itch.

I am passing the buck on and am now challenging my husband Benja Aquila and good friend Winchi Hollow  to do the same.

Join the  movement, share #feelingnuts on Twitter and get everyone checking their rocks.

Read more about this campaign here CheckingOneTwo.

In case no one has heard the news, Bock McMillan's nuts have gone international as his handsome Swedish body in green shorts has joined Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca as a main feature of the #feelingnuts campaign. Take a look at the top left photo on the home page on Twitter last night!  Congrats Bock!

A Special Message From Rico To All of Avacar Bluestar's Friends and Family

From Ricogenu Bluestar

__________________________

Dear  Friends and Family of Avacar,

I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for  your support and kind words over the past two weeks since Avacar passed away. It has been a hard time for myself, as I am sure it must have been for many of you.

I want you all to know how much your sympathy and support, and hearing your fond thoughts about Avacar, have meant to me as Avacar’s partner. Knowing that Avacar touched and was loved by so many of you has been of enormous comfort to myself and Avacar’s immediate Second Life family. They have helped all of us get through a very difficult time.

I especially want to thank Evan and Izzy Greymist, Parvin, MissBigRed, Phoebe, Ryce, Ralphy, Joe and Asharr for helping to plan and speaking at Avacar’s truly incomparable memorial service last Saturday. I was so pleased that well over 100 of you attended the event, and that those who could not come followed coverage on blogs and on websites.

About the memorial service itself, it has come to my attention that a few rumors are floating around about who was or was not invited to the event, and the conduct of certain people at the event. Nothing can be further from the truth. Everyone who knew Avacar was invited, and your comments at the event were wonderful.

I know Avacar is smiling knowing that so many cared about him and that he will be missed dearly.

Thank you once again for being such good friends, and please have a great holiday season,

My best Regards,

Rico

Great Second Life Destinations: Colonia Nova, A City From the Early Days of Second Life Holds It Charm

The Plasmolen Villa Roman long-house at Terra Nova

The Roman city of Colonia Nova goes back to the earliest days of Second Life . It is part of
the Confederation of Democratic Simulators, which goes back to September 2004.  The 5-sim Microcontinent includes a German alpine town, a monastery, and other attractions. The build itself of Colonia Nova has structures and artifacts which date back to October 2006, which is ancient history in Second Life.

I found the build to have held up surprisingly well given how uncomplicated the construction is. Mesh shapes and complicated textures are hold to a manageable level, which makes it very fast to rez. The central part of the build is given over to shops and much signage, you must go to the corners of the build to see things here at their most attractive.

The city of Colonia Nova is not entirely Roman, I saw Greek, Egyptian, Russian and Renaissance period design influences. Everything works well together. The bright colors and well designed layout is classic and will hold its own 10 years from now, when virtual reality is the province of three dimensional headsets and holographic images. This is very pretty destination, with nice detailing,  and will give you an idea of how Second Life has progressed over the years. I recommend a that you visit.
