Great Second Life Destinations: Fantasy China Returns With Monumental Design

Fantasy China has reopened. The central area, modeled after Beijing's Forbidden City (see video below) is commercial with several large retailers - but this does not detract from the impact of the impressive monumental design. The surrounding temples and plantings, and pleasant touches including a well done multi-masted junk, give the sim an authenticity that make it a must-see destination for the Second Life traveler.

I used the Windlight (TOR) Sunrise Cloud Indifferent Sky Setting in these images.

Back in the early days of Second Life, in the 2007 - 2009 period, there was a very large virtualization of Peking's forbidden city built on several sims by Avery Webb. Although this early rendition of the Forbidden City is no longer standing, you can see what it looked like here in a slide show video of my photography.
