How Times Have Changed -- 63 Years of Photographs on the Future King of the United Kingdom's Christening Day

1947 - Prince Charles Christening Day was a very formal affair.
That is a young Princess Elizabeth (before she became Queen) and Prince Philip

Today is a very important day for supporters of tradition in the United Kingdom, Canada, and other nations of the Commonwealth.

Prince George of Cambridge, who one day in the far distant future - perhaps 60 or 70 years from now - may very well become King, will be christened and welcomed into the Church of England, an institution which he will be head of when he assumed the throne.

1982 - Prince William is held by his mother, Princess Diana, with Prince Charles looking on.
More informal than above but they still had clothes on.

But what is truly remarkable is how informal the portraits of the Royal family have become!  Take a look at the difference between the picture of Prince Charles as an infant and Prince George today. Quite a difference!

2013- Kate and Prince William Do Not Even Bother to Wear Clothes!
There is cute Prince George and a rubber ducky.
Prince William shows off his huge feet, proving that he has not earned his nickname "Big Willy" for nothing!
