You Tube: The First Thanksgiving Story, How Native Americans Helped the Pilgrims Survive Their First Winter in the New World.

The First Thanksgiving, by Jennie Brownscombe, 1914

Many people do not know that Thanksgiving, celebrated today in the United States as an important National Holiday, is all about Native Americans helping the first European settlers in New England, the English religious refugees called "The Pilgrims",  survive the first winter in 1621.  The holiday is celebrated by Americans (and Canadians one month earlier) so that they may give thanks for all they have been given.

Although this version of the story on You Tube  is very sugar-coated, and does not go into all the bad things that happened to the Native Americans afterwards,  it is a pretty video and should be seen by anyone not familiar with the holiday.
